Looking for High-Performance Plastic Components?

Delrin® AF, Delrin® 100AF and Delrin® AF Blend belong to a family of PTFE filled DuPont acetal homopolymers. DuPont Delrin® is a popular acetal homopolymer brand name and the most commonly used acetal homopolymer. They are a unique subset of thermoplastic materials designed for use as bearing and wear components where low friction and long wear life are important. They are a combination of PTFE fibers (or PTFE powder) uniformly dispersed in Delrin® acetal resin. This combination offers better wear characteristics than unfilled Delrin® due to the presence of PTFE acting as a solid lubricant. Bearings made of Delrin® AF can operate at higher speeds while extending life to the component. Delrin® AF retains 90% of the strength that is inherent in unmodified Delrin®. Although there are other variations of PTFE filled acetal available, Delrin® AF Blend is widely available and generally speaking, less expensive.

Available in sheet, rod and tubing, it is easily machined with standard metal working equipment. Tolerances of +/-.001 can be achieved with experience.

Delrin® is a registered trademark of Dupont.
