Poly-Texx® HPVT/FR
Poly-Texx® HPVT/FR is a new self-lubricating Bearing Grade Composite containing PTFE fibers as a solid lubricant uniformly dispersed in a high strength thermoset resin system. It also complies with the minimum rating for flame spread index and heat release and flammability testing in accordance with ASTM E162. Typical applications include slide pads, sleeve and flanged bearings for passenger transit coupler components and braking system components. It also has many applications in railroad safety appliances and rail service vehicles. Suitable for underwater applications, Poly-Texx HPVT/FR has superior load handling capability, even under vibration. Other applications are well served in the timber, construction and agricultural industries as kingpin, knuckle boom and center pivot bearings.
Its main attribute is a PV rating of 40,000. Its ultimate compressive strength (P) exceeds 40,000 PSI, and is capable of a low-load velocity (V) of over 50 SFM (higher if lubricated). The combination of excellent bearing properties, self-lubrication and low cost makes Poly-Texx® HPVT/FR the bearing material of choice for severe service applications.
