GGB Steel Backed Composite Bearings

DU® and DX® Steel Backed Composite Bearings combine the advantages of conventional metallic plane bearings with the design freedom of self-lubricating materials.  The key to their remarkable performance is the unique method by which their lining is mechanically interlocked by sintered impregnation.  Available as conventional sleeve, flanged, thrust washer, and flat strip stock configurations, DU® and DX® bearings meet the need for high load, self-lubricating applications where a low wear rate is paramount. Developed by GGB (An Enpro Industries Company www.ggbearings.com), this family of steel backed composite bearings have excellent lubricating properties and are designed for low profile, rotary and oscillating applications. Their metallic backing not only provides extrordinary strength, it dissipates the heat generated by friction.   Laboratory and field testing has proven that DU® and DX® bearings provide outstanding performance in a wide variety of demanding applications dry or lubricated with speeds of 1000 sfm and loads up to 20,000 psi.  Their light weight and thin profile make them ideal for end of arm tooling, where close tolerance articulation is required. DU® Steel Backed Bearings are found in demanding applications such as pumps, automotive components, aviation landing gear, packaging equipment and robotic end effector devices. Product availability and additional technical information is available on the GGB website at www.ggbearings.com.
